The season is almost over. Can you believe it? It's been a blast this year and thank you so much for playing this season. I hope this power rankings article has provided some friendly banter for some of you and made you strategize against some of your opponents. It's not easy to try to predict the future but it's a cross I bear gladly because I am awesome and can handle it. Hall of fame, baby! Here's my predictions for what will take place in the final week of the regular season. Up next, the playoffs!

Team BagTag @ Green Bears

Split Series

If there's two teams in the league that really could use a win it's the Green Bears and Team BagTag. BagTag are on a 6-game losing streak but the only team on a worse streak is the Green Bears with an 11-game losing streak. Both teams are definitely not going to be taking the division and will most likely be eliminated in the playoffs but before that happens, I think these two teams deserve a win a piece...if nothing other than to break up the monotony of losing. The Green Bears have a little more to lose than BagTag, however, because if they do not find a win, they will be tied for last place in the league...a fate that they've avoided all season until last week. Brian Ball and Josh Smith will most likely face off at some point and that has potential for extra innings so I won't bore you with my assumptions. But both teams have weak offense, decent pitching, and excellent defense. I'm expecting this to be a low scoring series.

Sit On My Base @ Wee Willy Wiffle

Split Series

This will most likely be your matchup for the semifinal on the Jewel City side of the playoff bracket when the time comes. Until then, this will surely be a fantastic matchup. I'm expecting Kappra and Ray to square off in two complete games. Wee Willy's offense has been coming around as Richard Ball continues to drop bombs on a regular basis and Jacob Dunkle has really found a sweet spot on the bat. The team's On Base Percentage has skyrocketed lately with tons of walks from Jason Grady and Jeremy Litton. But their offense still does not compare to SOMB. They are absolutely killing the ball and their defense is rock solid. I'm expecting a pitcher's duel in both games and extra innings. It's going to be one K after another as two great pitchers give it all they've got for bragging rights before heading into the post-season. This is the best matchup that Jewel City has to offer.

Honey Badgers @ Wiffle Ballers

Sweep for Honey Badgers

This has potential to be a good matchup but that depends entirely on how much effort Wiffle Ballers will be able to put behind it. Lately, the team has been missing their team captain, Stephanie Sadler, due to an ankle injury and Tim Wilson-Byrne moved back to Boston. So the team is not at full strength and that fact alone will keep them from sweeping the Honey Badgers. Steven Adkins is still on the top of his game on the mound though but his stamina has been wavering. But Rick Hanshaw and Ronnie Canterbury have proven to be capable relief pitchers when needed. But offense continues to be a problem for this team and facing Paul Hesson and Jacob Fischer will surely keep their offense quiet. The Honey Badgers have made two dynamite acquisitions in the second half of the season. The first being top ace Jacob Fischer and more recently the offensive powerhouse that is Kyle Kelley (who is also an awesome outfielder). You don't have to read the writing on the wall to know that it's not looking good for the Wiffle Ballers in this matchup. But this will probably not be the last time these two teams see each other. They will most likely play each other in the first round of the playoffs.

Poker Night @ Breaking Balls

Sweep for Breaking Balls

Few teams are so different from one another than these two franchises. The Breaking Balls appear to be the first team in league history to go undefeated throughout an entire season. But will they get cocky and get beat? I doubt it. This team has been on their toes all season long and they've had a target on their back for months now. But Poker Night are not the same team that they were the last time these two teams played one another. There is potential for some close games here if Poker Night plays their cards right. They need to swing the bat and make something happen when they have runners in scoring position. Just about everyone on their team can pitch so if someone isn't working out on the mound, replace them immediately to stop the bleeding. I don't think Poker Night have a prayer of giving the Breaking Balls their first loss but they have nothing to lose by giving it their best try. I think the best case scenario is that they keep the Breaking Balls within a couple runs in either game. These two teams will definitely be seeing each other in the opening round of the playoffs so maybe Poker Night will find an Achilles Heel.
