2015 All-Star Game Predictions
After halfway through the season we have seen upsets, the fall of a titan, and emerging players that look to impress. The HWL currently has two teams ranked in the top 10, Breaking Balls at number 5, and Sit On My Base at number 6! Now we take one player from each team in the league and form a team from each division. Jewel City vs River City in a winner takes home field advantage for the championship. The participants from Jewel City are Andy Hill from Plain White Tees, Justin Fairman from Chicken and Wiffles, Brian Ball from Black Sheep Wiffle, and Jeremy Ray from Sit On My Base. Participants from River City are Paul Hesson from Asthmatics, Jeff Rider from Breaking Balls, Mikey Saxton from Wifflin Dixie, and Frank Schuler from Huntington Wifflers.
Jewel City:
Andy Hill offers patience at the plate with some power to send the ball over the fence
BA: .357 HR: 1 BB: 15 RBI: 3 OBP: .581
Justin Fairman brings power, good fielding, and the ability to pitch to this team. His one handed swing has connected more often than not for many homeruns and is a threat to any pitcher throwing his way
BA: .535 HR: 12 BB: 6 RBI: 28 OBP: .592
Brian Ball is by far the best fielder and all around player for the team who consistently makes plays on the field. His bat has been on fire as of late and is leading the league in batting avg.
BA: .805 HR: 10 BB: 18 RBI: 27 OBP: .864
Jeremy Ray will be the pitcher in this match up. He is not as fast as his opponent but has great ball movement to help him with the league leading ERA for over 10 innings. He helps himself too with some good batting.
BA: .632 HR: 8 BB: 10 RBI: 31 OBP: .708
ERA: 3.86 K: 33 BB: 15 H: 30 WHIP: 2.05
River City:
Jeff Rider was one of the most patient batters last year and he continues that this year. He will make you hit that strikezone.
BA: .171 HR: 2 BB: 12 RBI: 12 OBP: .383
Frank Schuler is a good player that waits for the right pitch. Hopefully that will help him out in the game.
BA: .250 HR: 1 BB: 16 RBI: 7 OBP: .625
Mikie Saxton is the youngest of the players but still offers good hitting, which makes for a reliable leadoff hitter and not too bad at pitching either offering the play of the week for a behind the batters head strikout.
BA: .325 HR: 0 BB: 7 RBI: 2 OBP: .415
Paul Hesson offers power and pitching. He is always swinging for the fence and is a much faster pitcher than his opponent. Hopefully he finds the strikezone.
BA: .641 HR: 7 BB: 6 RBI: 21 OBP: .689
ERA: 9.72 K: 23 BB: 53 H: 16 WHIP: 3.83
For my predictions of the all star game the Jewel City division just has too much fire power batting and consistancy with pitching. If Paul can find the strikezone it will be closer but I think 4 innings and this one will be over and another win for Jewel City.
