London! Winter Is Coming!

Attention London Wiffleball Tournament teams! Watch out! The Huntington Wiffleball League is coming your way. For the past few years we've tried putting teams in your tournament only to flake out at the last minute or for mother nature to intervene (as it did last year). We plan on icing some teams in bracket-play by flurrying the competition with dingers. We won't be the only team from our league either! Dinger City (or Beaver Bunch as you'll know them) will be there and making it rain wiffleballs over the fence all day. Mothmen will be there and they will be making some noise as well. But most importantly, our team that didn't qualify for the NWLA Tournament is going to be there! The Blizzard.

So, hide your beer because we're coming. We're coming and there's nothing you can do about it. We're coming with coolers. We're coming with a canopy. We're coming with our red, white, and blue bat that we affectionately call "Uncle Slam." We're coming to play and we're coming to win! Know this.

These are the faces that you're going to be seeing this Saturday so learn them well:

Joshua Smith - Captain/P/OF (#10)

He's been receiving invites to play in this tournament for 13 years and he's ready to RSVfrigginP this time! He's had a little London experience before and is ready to put it to good use to decimate the competition. He is loud, can deliver a pun at a moment's notice, and may hang out with your team at times. He has nearly 20 years of wiffleball experience and loves America.

Greg Sowards - Pitcher (#69)

Greg has been playing slow-pitch his whole life in fast-pitch leagues. He's finally going to be in his element. He's 3 steps ahead in strategy at all times and is a player you can never predict. Will he hit a home run or hit it to opposite field? No one knows. He also has nearly 20 years experience in the sport and loves Canada.

Patrick Rayl - P/EH (#8)

Patrick is a relative newbie to the game but he understands it well. He came up with the team name and helped design our sweet jerseys. He's had some slow-pitch experience in North Carolina and in our league's current format. He can hit the ball pretty much everywhere so good luck fielding off of him. He loves looking at pictures of big foot on the internet.

Anthony Stidham - P/EH (#7)

I defy you to find a more magnificent bat flipper in the wiffleball world! You don't get good at that without hitting a ton of homers. He's got some pitching experience as well, which helps. He's new to the sport but a long time softball player who's ready to crush some competition. He loves using bluetooth in his automobile.

Ian Handy - OF/EH (#9)

Ian is a big guy and he hits the ball very well. He took his team all the way to a title this year in our league. He's also a ginger so if you do manage to beat us, you'll be advancing without your souls. Ian is a recent participant in the sport and loves rubbing the feet of strangers.

Josh Blair - OF/P (#3)

Josh is probably the best fielder on the team. He is fast on base and a consistent hitter. He's a great, all-around player who is going to be doing a lot of work to get the runners home. His bandanna game is on point too, so watch out for that. He's a rookie to the sport this year but has adjusted nicely and loves taking selfies to send to people on SnapChat.
